Layout Progress Update – Roadbed

This morning the postman dropped off the cork and rail I ordered.

So that meant I could get to work! I laid down all the rest of the cork roadbed.

Then I placed the buildings on it again. I had to move some around because the roadbed was wider than I had allowed for. Silly me.

I’m not sure if this will be the final position for all the buildings or not, or even if these are all the buildings I’m going to use. We’ll see as we go along.

I’ve also determined that I’m not going to hang this on the wall in my office. Reaching over my desk to work on it or operate it would get old pretty fast. I’m going to put it on saw horses in the basement, there’s room there if I move some stuff around.

In other news I have all nine switches soldered up and eight are glued to the ties (only had eight QuickSticks – more should be here soon.) So I can start laying rail soon.
